It's true that someone with administrative skills can readily move to Virtual Assistance. What usually happens is that we bring our skills and experience to the table but end up learning more and more technology that we need to provide "virtual assistance" and add more advanced skills to provide senior level assistance to our clients. Right from the beginning, my VA business has been simply a stepping stone to a major medium term goal of earning income in a different occupation, where I will still work from home, but only a couple of hours a day, giving me much more time for the other activities I enjoy doing and have little time for currently.
